Baby Jesus Found
Tipster discovers stolen Nativity figurine on Facebook, alerts police.
Fredericksburg Police have recovered a baby Jesus figurine which was stolen this week from a Nativity scene in Central Park.
The story had gone viral on a regional level, with coverage from multiple media organizations in Washington, D.C., and Richmond.
Police say they cracked the caper with the help of a citizen who saw pictures of the stolen Christ child on the Facebook page of a 25-year-old Spotsylvania County woman. The tipster printed off the picture and its comments before the suspect removed them from Facebook. The tipster then turned the evidence over to the Fredericksburg Police Department, who were able to track down the missing baby Jesus.
According to Fredericksburg Police Spokesperson Natatia Bledsoe, the figure will be returned to the manger today.
Charges are pending. Police have not identified the suspect as of yet, saying that the investigation is ongoing and that there is at least one more suspect involved in the theft.

What should happen to the offender? Life in prison? Can you charge someone with kidnapping if the victim is an 80-pound plastic baby Jesus and a horrified community?
