Barnes & Noble Announces Nov. 7 Opening

The grand opening celebration will benefit Hugh Mercer Elementary School.

Barnes & Noble announced Tuesday their Fredericksburg bookstore will open on Nov. 7. The store is located in Central Park at 1220 Carl D. Silver Pkwy.

The grand opening celebration will be held from 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. on Nov. 7.  A portion of the day's proceeds will benefit Hugh Mercer Elementary School, according to the retail bookseller. Hugh Mercer Elementary students will sing for customers during the grand opening celebration.

The Central Park Barnes & Noble will include more than 60,000 books, newsstand titles, gifts and DVDs, a NOOK Boutique, a new educational toys & games department, and a Café featuring Starbucks coffee.

The Central Park Barnes & Noble will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday.

The store will employ approximately 75 people.
