Aggravated Assault, Burglaries Reported in City Blotter

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT:
1100 block of Forest Village, Aug. 1, 11:30 am. Police responded to reports of a male subject who had been stabbed by a female at Forest Village Apartments and transported to Mary Washington Hospital in a friend’s car. The victim, a 25-year-old King George resident, was stabbed in the left side of his torso with an unknown implement and suffered a punctured lung. His injuries are not reported to be life-threatening.
Multiple witness accounts led to the identification of the female suspect, who was described as the occasional girlfriend of the victim. The suspect was located by police at the apartment building where the suspect resides and where the assault occurred following an argument. Keyzha Benson, 24, of Fredericksburg was arrested for aggravated malicious wounding and incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.
BURGLARY:
2500 block of Manor Dr., Aug. 1, 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person forced entry into the apartment through the front door and stole a television, game system, and laptop computer. The investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY:
City Shop, 1000 Tyler St., Aug. 1, 9 am. An employee reported that four light bar kits were stolen from the building. The investigation is ongoing.
INDECENT EXPOSURE:
1200 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy., Aug. 2, 6 p.m. A resident reported that she saw a male subject exposing himself on the footpath between the Eagle Village shopping center and Monticello Apartments. The suspect was described as a white male in his 20’s with short dark brown hair and wearing only a white T-shirt. The investigation is ongoing.
VANDALISM:
Curtis Estates, Aug. 1-2 2 p.m. A Locust Grove resident reported that the tail light on her trailer was smashed. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
FROM SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE:
The Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office has charged Bruce Sewell Kamer, 34, with rape, sodomy, abduction, inanimate object penetration and aggravated sexual battery from an incident on July 23 in the 7900 block of E. Robert E. Lee Court.
