Jack Bales, UMW reference and humanities librarian created the exhibit “Before They Were Loveable Losers: The Pennant-Winning Chicago Cubs,” which explores the history of the Chicago Cubs. The display of books and photos will highlight memorable events, including the Cubs National League pennant years (1929 -1945), and the careers of some key players, such as Hall of Famer Hack Wilson, catcher Leo “Gabby” Hartnett, and Phil Cavarretta.

This exhibit is available on the first floor at the University of Mary Washington’s Simpson Library through Friday, Oct. 14.
