Update 8:35 p.m.: Virginia State Police have confirmed that two died in a fixed-wing plane crash Saturday.

A fixed-wing plane crashed near Shannon Airport at 5:14 p.m. Saturday.

The plane went down near Carrie Court. At least one person is dead, according to an initial briefing from Virginia State Police. Fredericksburg.com is reporting two people are dead—both were in the plane that went down and no homes were hit.

Virginia State Police are on the scene and the National Transportation Safety Board has been notified of the incident.
