Fredericksburg Area Housing Market Shows Improvement
Real estate market statistics for the Fredericksburg Area Association of Realtors showed modest improvement in residential sales during February.
There were 276 closed sales on homes in the Fredericksburg area during February, with a median price of $219,900, according to a Fredericksburg Area Association of Realtors (FAAR) report.
The median price is down slightly from last month (4.37 percent), but up 7.27 percent from a year ago.
Average days on the market for February sales was 67 days. That's a decrease of 26.37 percent from a year ago, showing continued improvement. In February 2008 the average days on the market was at its highest of the last five years -- 150 days.
FAAR includes the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford.
