One man is dead following a two-vehicle Stafford crash in Stafford County. Virginia State Police have charged a Fredericksburg man in the crash with involuntary manslaughter.

At 4:35 p.m. on Thursday, Virginia State Police Trooper A.J. Falkner was called to the scene on Route 17 near Stafford Lakes Parkway.

"A 1999 Ford F-350 pickup truck was traveling north on Route 17 when, according
to witnesses, it suddenly sped up and crossed into the southbound lanes," said VSP spokesperson Corinne Geller in a news release. "Heading the wrong way in the southbound lanes, the 1999 F-350 then struck head-on a southbound 2003 Ford F-350 pickup truck."

The driver of the 2003 F-350 was transported to Mary Washington Hospital, where he died later Thursday night. Virginia State Police are still in the process of
notifying his next of kin.

The driver of the 1999 F-350, Frederick C. Frostick III, 23, of Fredericksburg,
was also transported to Mary Washington Hospital, where he was treated and
released. Frostick has been charged with involuntary manslaughter.
Speed was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.

There seems to be some pieces missing from this. Unless drinking or drugs are involved Why would someone intentionally speed up and drive across a medium into on coming traffic? Makes me wonder if there could have been a medical condition, that may have been the cause? I am so sorry for the loss of life and the families. It all seems tragic.

Ironic that both vehicles were F350s. It looked like three or four vehicles were involved when I passed it. Very unfortunate. It would be great if it was a bypass for HWY 17 to reach I95

There was a medical condition. This young man would never intentionally hurt anyone. Praying for both families.

I don't care if this man had medical conditions or not!! If he had medical conditions to such a level & degree as to this, he should of not been allowed to drive a car, even more once again driving a truck of this size w/ an altered suspension on his vehicle, which he has been cited for many times in the past, several times. NOW A PERFECTLY INNOCENT MAN OF GREAT RESPECT & A FATHER & GRANDFATHER IS NOW DEAD!! I hope this man gets the ultimate punishment that the great state of Virginia will allow & grant. We all know this is way to fishy & weird & the current investigation will rule out any & all foul play. This makes the community of Stafford very upset, luckily we have such a great state police officer as Trooper Faulkner & the rest of the Stafford judicial service as well very upset & also in the know that a great man, w/ a PERFECT DRIVING RECORD, was taken from us because of this stupid kid breaking the law AGAIN & driving an illegally altered vehicle, to mr it sounds as like either suicide or a true murder attempt, & this kid should pay the ultimate price, no " oh I'm so sorry & I deserve to continue breaking the law & killing people " NO THIS TIME YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS & the law will prevail in favor to this man & his family, what a tragic loss to so many people, especially his little 8 yr. Old girl & immediate family. This man has no right w/ a driving license or to be able to even be free in our society!!!!!
