Grab & Go Kids Planner

A weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities to explore with children. Each week, we will make suggestions for five family activities and events within a reasonable driving distance of Fredericksburg.

1. National Park Week
Where/When: Take some time this week to visit one our local national parks. April 16-24 is an annual week for celebration and recognition of our National Parks.
Why go: National Parks provide recreational experiences, opportunities to learn and grow, and places of quiet refuge. About 200 parks will also commemorate Junior Ranger Day with fun-filled activities and special events. Almost every National Park has a Junior Ranger program -- a program to connect children and families with the natural and cultural history found in National Parks. Junior Rangers demonstrate that they have what it takes to preserve and understand the importance of our national treasures.
