Hazelwild Riding Team Wins AIRC Championship

The Fredericksburg team earned first place in the 2012-13 American Interschool Riding Competition.

 

The 2012-13 Hazelwild Hunters won first place in the American Interschool Riding Competition (AIRC) finals Sunday at Hazelwild Farm.  The win also earned them first place for the season.

Team members are: Nikki Reyes, Eryn Suttle, Alli Dayley, Katie Janney, Ally Lagiovane, Isabella Tinnell, Fallon Wright, Caroline Patton, Nicki Thornton, Victoria Sullivan, Bobby Dunlap and Catherine Jones.  Chelsie Liming is the coach and Teresa Seay is the equine director.

In addition to the team win, Eryn Suttle won High Point Rider in the finals as well as High Point Rider for the season.  Nikki Reyes was High Point Rider, two foot fences, for the season.

Teams in the AIRC are Amber Hill Farm, Cedar Knoll Farm, Crossing Pointe Farm, EKG Stables, Hazelwild Farm, Oakland Heights Farm, South Run Riding Farm, Summerduck Run Farm and Touch Point Farm.

AIRC teams compete at member riding schools, using horses provided by each host school, according to the website.  AIRC also offers a scholarship program for graduating high school senior members.
