The first day of school at James Monroe High School is Sept. 4 and those who applied to be in the National Honor Society should have their sponsors' receipt completed by Aug. 11.

A message from the school was posted on the website: 

"National Honor Society candidate packets were mailed out June 29th to all rising juniors and seniors with an unrounded, cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better. This is a reminder that there is a deadline of Aug. 11 for the sponsor’s receipt of the completed Leadership Activities form. Please complete and mail that form immediately, as there will be no further reminders.

If anyone believes he/she should have received a packet but did not, please email sponsor Linda Robinson at Lsrser@cox.net."
