Spotsylvania Deputies Charge Man With Rape

The victim immediately reported the assault. Where an arrest is mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a man in a rape investigation on Tuesday in the 5000 block of Heritage Hills, according to Capt. Jeff Pearce, Sheriff's Office spokesman.

Jose Acanda Montano, 33, is charged with one count of rape and sodomy, Pearce said.

The complainant reported the assault immediately after the incident. A search warrant was served on Montano and his residence, Pearce said.

The victim was treated and released from Mary Washington Hospital.

Montano is being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
