Man Beaten For Wallet on Dunmore Street

The attackers ended up with nothing from the victim after they beat him.

A Spotsylvania County man told Fredericksburg police that he was walking to a friend's house when three men attacked him at about 2 a.m. in the 400 block of Dunmore Street.

Fredericksburg Police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said the victim told police that three men approached him during his walk and two of them struck him on the back while the third suspect demanded his wallet. The victim refused to hand over his wallet and all three suspects started to punch him until he fell to the ground.

"The victim reported that after the assailants left the scene, he called a family member to pick him up and take him to the hospital," Bledsoe said.

None of his property was stolen during the assault.

The suspects were described as three black males in their late teens or early 20s.
