Man Crashes Motorcycle in Front of Restaurant

Fredericksburg Police incident report of April 8, 2013. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH
Umi Restaurant, 1500 Jefferson Davis Hwy, 4/7 9:30 p.m. A 55-year-old male from Warrenton crashed his Harley Davidson motorcycle at the front of the restaurant, after he failed to negotiate the intersection of Cowan Boulevard and Jefferson Davis Highway.

The driver was traveling from the direction of Central Park on Cowan Boulevard but instead of turning onto Route 1, he went over the curb and into the parking lot at Umi, coming to a stop when he hit the large decorative rocks in front of the restaurant.

The driver was found unconscious on the scene and was transported by ambulance to Mary Washington Hospital with significant injuries. He
remains in critical condition.

The accident victim was driving in the company of two other males, also on motorcycles, who stopped at the scene after the crash. One of the males, Steven Bartee, 47, of New Baltimore was arrested for public intoxication and incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

The other male, the adult son of the crash victim, does not face any charges.

Preliminary findings indicate that alcohol was a factor in the crash and the investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY:
Thurman Brisben Shelter, 471 Central Rd, 4/5 4:00 a.m. – 5:00 a.m. A resident reported that jewelry was stolen from a pocket in her clothing. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Kohls, 1571 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 4/7 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. A Spotsylvania resident reported
that his moped was stolen from outside the store. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

VANDALISM:
1100 block Dixon St, 4/4 – 4/5 7:20 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person flattened a tire on her vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

1300 block Washington Ave, 4/4 – 4/5 9:20 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person flattened two tires on her vehicle and also broke a window. The investigation is ongoing.

2000 block Idlewild Blvd, 4/5 1:00 a.m. – 5:00 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person broke the glass of a bedroom window, apparently by shooting it with a BB gun. The investigation is ongoing.

1800 block Idlewild Blvd, 4/5 8:00 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person broke the glass on a downstairs window, apparently by shooting it with a BB gun. The investigation is ongoing.

DUI ARRESTS:
Mansour Alsadun, 28, of Fredericksburg was arrested for DUI in the 1500 block of Powhatan Street.

Brady Larkin, 20, of Alexandria was arrested for DUI in the 1100 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.

Ian Carter, 24, of Fredericksburg was arrested for DUI in the 700 block of Kenmore Avenue.

Christian Riffee, 19, of Spotsylvania was arrested for reckless driving and operating a vehicle after illegally consuming alcohol.

Andrew Holswade, 36, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI in the 900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway and possession of schedule III narcotics.

ARRESTS:
Matthew Brandon Knight, 25, of Fredericksburg was arrested for failure to comply with a court order.

Vernon Ellis, 31, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery.

Justin Marston, 39, of Spotsylvania was arrested for public intoxication, urinating in public, and on an outstanding warrant charging him with failure to appear in court.

Jessica King, 31, of Spotsylvania was arrested for assault and battery.

Patricia Brent, 61, of Elkridge, Maryland was arrested for possession of marijuana and felony shoplifting from Wegmans.

Oscar Amilcar-Velasquez, 26, of Spotsylvania was arrested for domestic assault and battery and abduction.

Orrin Levi, 51, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication.

Amir Pakpour, 32, of Fredericksburg was arrested for possession of marijuana and public intoxication.

Robert Michaelis, 22, of Spotsylvania was arrested for failure to appear in court and possession of a controlled substance.
