Man Robbed at Gunpoint Outside of Home

Three men armed with at least two handguns robbed a man as he returned home from work in Spotsylvania County.

Spotsylvania County Sheriffs are looking for three suspects who robbed a man at gunpoint outside of his home late last night.

The incident began around 10:20 p.m. on Sept. 21 in the 3200 block of Terra Springs Drive in Spotsylvania County. The Sheriff's Office says that the victim was just returning home from work when he was approached by three masked men as he exited his vehicle. At least two of the suspects were armed with handguns.

The trio ordered him to empty his pockets. The victim complied, throwing money and other items from his pockets on the ground. The trio then ordered him to pick up the money and hand it over. They then ordered the victim back into his car and asked for the wristwatch the victim was wearing, which the victim provided.

One of the trio then took the victim's keys and began to walk towards the victim's house. The victim's wife, startled by the commotion outside, opened the front door as the robbers were approaching. This spooked the robbers, who threw down the keys and ran off in the direction of Tidewater Trail.

The suspects are all described as black men, about 20-years-old, with thin builds. All three were wearing camouflaged masks. Only one of the suspects spoke to the victim during the ordeal. The victim described the talker as wearing black pants, a camouflage vest and white shoes which resemble Nike Shocks. The two guns brandished during the robbery were described as a black handgun and a handgun with a silver finish.
