Free Lance-Star: Otter House Charges Dropped
Criminal charges against the owners were dropped Thursday.
The Free Lance-Star first reported Friday morning that charges against The Otter House restaurant owners Stephen Cameli and Paul Stoddard were dropped Thursday.
In July, the business was raided overnight by Fredericksburg police. In a search warrant affidavit from the raid, detectives found two pills in a green plastic bag, a smoking device in an office and another smoking device in an outside alley way in a broken down small fridge and green plant-like material in the alley.
A week later, Cameli and co-owner Paul Stoddard were charged with in August the misdemeanor of keeping a public nuisance.

The Otter House features a restaurant on the main level and a full bar and music venue on the upper level.

I'm shocked! Shocked to find out that the judge agreed with the FBPD's blatant mishandling and poor judgement during an ill-conceived (and partially vindictive) investigation that led to absolutely nothing.
I just hope that the police's blunders haven't tarnished the reputation of these men in any permanent or lasting manners. Congratulations on your justice gentlemen; justice that you should have never had to fight for.
