The Rappahannock River is expected to crest at 17.4 feet at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, and flood stage at City Dock is 18 feet, according Natatia Bledsoe, Fredericksburg Police Department Public Information Officer.  As of 1 p.m., the river at City Dock was at nine feet.

Most businesses are open Tuesday. It is cold and rainy, but other than the river, there is no evidence that Sandy passed by.

Cars crossing the Chatham Bridge toward Chatham are slowing for a large pothole filled with rain near the center.
