Rappaport Rebrands Uptown Central Park
The company also announced a retail brokerage specialist for the Fredericksburg area.
Uptown Central Park was rebranded Tuesday evening as the Central Park Corporate Center.
A who’s-who of the Fredericksburg business and government community attended a reception hosted by The Rappaport Companies, the retail real estate company which now owns the property.
Located on Central Park Boulevard, the property had previously been owned by Silver Companies, which focused it on retail, including restaurants, night clubs and an ice skating rink. Rappaport has dedicated the property as a business park.
New tenants include Germanna Community College, Fredericksburg Oral Surgery and the General Services Administration (GSA).
"We can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it’s not a train; things are looking much more positive,” said Henry Fonvielle, president of Rappaport in announcing the name change and referring to the economic downturn of the last few years. "The name change is much more representative of what this place now is," he said.
Fonvielle also announced the addition of Shawn Carrington as the company's retail brokerage and leasing specialist in the Fredericksburg area, something they had not had previously. "Carrington is the face of The Rappaport Companies here in Fredericksburg," said Fonvielle.
The Rappaport Companies is headquartered in Northern Virginia. The company provides leasing, tenant representation, management and development services for more than 13 million square feet throughout Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C.
