Sept. 17-23 is Constitution Week
The City of Fredericksburg commemorates the 225th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution.
Mayor Mary Katherine Greenlaw issued a proclamation on Tuesday that commemorates Sept. 17-23 as Constitution Week for the 225th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution.
The proclamation states that "it is important that all citizens fully understand the provisions, principles, and meaning of the Constitution so they can support, preserve, and defend it againstencroachment."
Mayor Greenlaw in the proclamation asked that "our citizens to reaffirm the ideals of the Framers of the Constitution by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed to us through this guardian of our liberties, remembering that lost rights are never regained."
