Spotsylvania County Recruiting Fire Rescue Volunteers
Experience is not necessary and the training is free.
Spotsylvania County's three volunteer agencies have started a recruitment drive for new members.
Experience is not necessary and the training is free for certifications in emergency management technicians, paramedics, firefighters and ambulance drivers. All three agencies are also in need of administrative volunteers.
At 7 p.m. on Sept. 5, there will be a recruitment open house at Station No. 1 at 7200 Courthouse Commons Blvd. Those attending the open house will see a short video that shows volunteer emergency responders in action, and hear a presentation about volunteer fire & EMS opportunities.
Representatives from the Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Department, Spotsylvania Volunteer Rescue Squad and Chancellor Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department will be at the open house. Call (540) 507-7911 for details.
The three agencies have a new video promoting the volunteer fire and rescue experience and a website at http://standbesideus.org/
