Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office Makes Arrest in Business Burglaries

Floyd Horace Felton Sutton, 19, of Spotsylvania County was arrested.

Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office detectives arrested a 19-year-old man in an investigation of numerous business burglaries in the Courtland Commons and Hilltop areas.

First Sgt. James Konicki said that at about 1:30 a.m. on July 19 the Special Investigations Unit was conducting surveillance in the area of Courtland Commons where in the past several months there have been a total of nine burglaries reported in the area.

Konicki said detecties saw a suspect riding a bike in the middle of the roadway and they detained him for questioning.

"Detective Leonard Short responded and through his investigation received a confession to the multiple burglaries in the Courtland Commons and Hilltop areas," Konicki said.

Floyd Horace Felton Sutton of Spotsylvania County was charged with three counts of nighttime burglary and is currently incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail.
