In Stafford County Circuit Court, Ashleigh Dye also pleaded guilty to using a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Brenda Dye, who was 62, was found dead in her home on Perry Drive in Falmouth on July 5. She was shot with a shotgun and stabbed. Her daughter was 17 at the time of the murder.
Eddie Chewning, 19, who was dating Ashleigh Dye, was charged as an accomplice but his trial has not been scheduled. Police were able to solve the crime after discovering a series of text messages sent by both Ashleigh Dye and Chewning in which they discussed the murder plan.

This is so sad, I can only imagine that this was a case of the mother trying to get control of this relationship possibly she discovered that these 2 had an intimate relationship and threatened to contact the authorities because chewning was 18. This is the only explaination that you can gather she didnt want her boyfriend getting in trouble so she killed her mother. I cant understand how she thought that killing her mother would result in the two of them being togather she is gonna be in prison the rest of her life and hopefully he will be there too because he could have prevented it he could have called the authorities he could have told someone he could have stopped this girl when she texted she was scared. I just dont understand the hatred this girl had for her mother to shoot her in the face and then to stab her and then the topper is she went to mcdonalds and ate a sandwich . All she had to do was wait a couple of months and she would have been of legal age to see this boy and no one would have been able to stop her. How does the brother and the father deal with this. I dont think that I would be sending her canteen money , and accepting her calls.
