UMW Classes Delayed By Hurricane

Storm threatens to bring wind and rain to quake damaged area.

The impending and shifting track of Hurricane Irene has forced the University of Mary Washington to close classes next Monday. A message posted to UMW's Facebook page advised the public of the closing. Full message below:

"Due to forecasts of extreme weather conditions on Saturday and Sunday, all UMW classes are canceled for Monday, Aug. 29; classes for the semester will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 30. For returning students, residence halls will be open for move-in on Monday, Aug. 29. Students with extenuating circumstances may make arrangements to move in on Friday, Aug. 26. To make arrangements, please contact Residence Life at 540/654-1058 or rlif@umw.edu."
