UMW Ranked 6th For Southern Public Universities

UMW undergraduate program ranks sixth amongst southern regional universities.

Continuing a five-year trend in the top 20, the University of Mary Washington’s undergraduate program still ranks highly among southern regional universities.

UMW was rated sixth out of 127 according to U.S. News and World Reports online edition for the “Top Public Regional Universities – South” category in the 2012 edition of America’s Best Colleges.  The category is composed of universities with a diverse array of undergraduate and master’s programs, yet little offerings for doctoral candidates.

U.S. News and World Report rankings are assessed on peer reviews, graduation and retention rates, resources for faculty, and alumni contributions.  In addition, UMW academics have been recognized in other notable guidebooks such as Princeton Review’s 2012 edition of “The Best 376 Colleges” and Forbes.com’s “America’s Best Colleges.”
