Woman Assaulted by Bike Riding Thieves

FREDERICKSBURG POLICE INCIDENTS FRIDAY, JULY 8, 2011

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY/ASSAULT:

500 block Lafayette Blvd, July 5, 10 p.m. A resident reported that she was walking through a parking lot with a male friend when they were approached by two male subjects riding bicycles. The victim reported that the two subjects assaulted her and her companion, forcing her to the ground and attempting to steal her purse. The victim was able to keep the assailants from taking her bag and the two suspects fled from the scene on the bikes. The suspects were described as males of unknown age or race; they were both wearing jeans and black hoodies and had small “trick bicycles” with flashlights tied to the handlebars. The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY:

Carrabba’s Restaurant, 1951 Carl D Silver Pkwy, July 7, 6 – 8 p.m. An employee reported that his wallet and iPod were stolen from his unsecured vehicle in the parking lot. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Central Station, 1917 Princess Anne St, July 2, 8:30 – 9 p.m. (reported 7/7) A patron reported that her purse was stolen from an unsecured vehicle in the parking lot. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1900 block Woodlyn Dr, June 27 – June 28 (reported July 7) A resident reported that a diamond ring was stolen from her jewelry box. The investigation is ongoing.

1200 block Caroline St, June 7, 5 – 5:20 p.m. A resident reported that his bicycle was stolen when he left it unsecured next to a building. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Regal Cinemas, 3301 Plank Rd, June 7, 7:45 – 9:45 p.m. A Stafford resident reported that a window on his vehicle was broken out and his cell phone, GPS, and satellite radio were stolen from inside. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

ARRESTS: Casey Ross, 21, of Woodford was arrested for domestic assault and battery.

Juvenile female, 17, was arrested for shoplifting from Target.

Alfred Steele, 61, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication.

Anthony Turner, 46, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery.
