Woof! Dogapalooza A 'Success' So Far
Dogapalooza at PetSmart in Central Park adopted out more than 60 dogs on Friday, more than the store manager expected. The event ends Sunday.
Barks and howls echoed through the parking lot at PetSmart in Central Park on Friday for the massive Dogapalooza adoption event.
"It's been very successful today," PetSmart manager Kelly Johannemann said Friday afternoon. More than 60 dogs were adopted out to new families by 5 p.m.
Dogapalooza organizers want to break a national record of 587 adoptions in one weekend. The event includes 25 rescue groups and shelters from across the region, and PetSmart Charities sponsors the event with Last Chance Animal Rescue out of Waldorf, MD.
There's a dunk tank, psychic readings and dozens of cute dogs to pet.
