The owner of FAS Muffler and Tire at 2000 Princess Anne St. told police that while he was working in the garage someone removed $270 from the cash register. The incident happened on June 14 before 12:15 p.m. The site manager at Village of Idlewild told police that graffiti was spray painted on playground equipment. The site manager reported the incident to police at 10 a.m. on June 13.
Police took three larceny reports from three separate businesses this week for Thursday's police blotter. An employee of Goodwill on Plank Road reported to police that at about noon on June 5 an unknown man stole a bear rug from the store. The owner of Du Jardin at 703 Caroline St. told police that on June 13 between 12:30-5 p.m. someone stole cash from her wallet while she was working. Police are investigating a larceny at Health South at 300 Park Hill Drive between June 5 and June 6. A foreman told police that steel beams were stolen from the construction site. A city resident reported another larceny in the 1000 block of Heritage Park between June 1 and June 4 when someone stole clothing and jewelry from his vehicle in the parking lot. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time.
There have been several reports of thefts from vehicles parked near the canal path on Fall Hill Avenue near the Virginia Outdoor Center, and now the Fredericksburg Police Department is reminding people not to leave valuables in vehicles. Fredericksburg Police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said the most-recent incident happened between 9:55-10:45 a.m. Tuesday, when a resident reported that the window on her vehicle was shattered and her wallet and cell phone were stolen from inside the vehicle. A CVS employee's alertness kept a man from getting a refund on items he never bought. The manager of the CVS at 591 Jefferson Davis Highway told police that at about 9:45 p.m. Monday, a man tried to use a receipt he found in the trashcan outside to return items that he had just grabbed off the shelves. A resident of the 300 block of Hunter Street reported that between April 23 and May 31 at 10:15 a.m. someone drilled a hole in the air conditioning unit's copper line and removed the freon from the unit. A Fredericksburg man was arrested Monday night for allegedly getting aggressive with a police officer and grabbing her gun, which resulted in her having to taser the suspect to comply with her orders. Antonio Parker, 29, was charged with attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, obstruction of justice and assault on a law enforcement officer. He is at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. A 53-year-old Fredericksburg resident was thrown to the ground and kicked after returning an iPhone to its rightful owner. The Good Samaritan found the iPhone at about 5:45 p.m. in the 700 block of Lafayette Boulevard on Wednesday, said police spokeswoman Natatia Bleldsoe. The woman was able to reach the owner and they arranged to make the exchange, and she was told she was going to get a reward. Police are searching for a man accused of flashing a jogger on the canal path Monday night. Fredericksburg Police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said that the jogger told police that the male exposed himself to her while she was jogging near the Outdoor Center on Fall Hill Avenue at about 7:40 p.m. She said the suspect followed her for a short distance after she passed him. She met up with another woman who was exercising on the canal path and they continued jogging toward U.S. 1, where the victim exited the path to call police from a nearby business. A homeless woman reported to police that she was assaulted in the 1100 block of Lafayette Boulevard by a guy who allegedly inquired about sex. Natatia Bledsoe, Fredericksburg police spokeswoman, said the report came in at about 10:10 a.m. on May 13. The woman said she was walking through a business parking lot when she noticed a man sitting in a vehicle. She continued walking, but the man got out of the vehicle and grabbed her by the arm and asked for sex. The woman broke free and ran from the scene. Three men kicked a man in the face and back after leaving a downtown bar when he tried to stop them from antagonizing another person. Fredericksburg Police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said the victim told police that he was in Spirits at 816 Caroline St. when three males were antagonizing another customer. He and his friends left the bar and were on the sidewalk when the three males followed them and started to taunt them. ABC stores don't have public restrooms so when a man was turned away from using the bathrooms at the ABC establishment at 1271 Jefferson Davis Highway Thursday night, he decided to relieve himself anyway. Fredericksburg Police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said the incident happened at about 5:40 p.m. when a Hispanic man in his 20s was denied use of the restroom. Two roommates on Springwood Drive told police that at about 11 p.m. on March 13 they saw a man looking through an open window of a bedroom where their third roommate was asleep. The roommates were first alerted to the situation when they heard a noise coming from the side of the house. They yelled at the man and he ran away toward the street. They described him as a Hispanic male, about 5-feet 11-inches tall with short black hair and a white T-shirt.
