Lunch at Hurkamp is getting a makeover!  Held Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in May, June and September since 1997, the summer concert series has grown into one of the community’s most popular events. Being renamed “Picnic in the Park” the series will be moved this summer down at the new Riverfront Park with beautiful views of the Rappahannock River. Each concert serves as a meeting place and opportunity for community groups, friends, families, seniors and business people to gather together and enjoy music, downtown Fredericksburg and each other. Pirate Canoe Voyage Have a love for all things pirate?  If so, then sail on down to Motts for an exciting voyage out on the canoes. We'll find some hidden treasure and much more as we paddle along the beautiful lakeshore. Each scalawag will need only one non-paying adult to paddle with them. Conversational Italian – Beginner Come immerse yourself in one of the most romantic languages in the world. Conversational Italian is for teens and adults. It is a classroom environment where the instructor will familiarize the class with basic words and phrases in Italian. The Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with the Fredericksburg Women’s Club is hosting the 60thAnnual Fredericksburg Fine Arts Exhibit starting this weekend, running from March 12-20. The show allows artists to compete in nine categories for cash prizes. Categories include acrylic, oil, drawing, watercolor, novice, 3-D sculpture, collage and mixed media and more.  The Fredericksburg Women’s Club, a service oriented volunteer organization dedicated to the welfare and enrichment of the community, started the show 60 years ago.
