DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\;\nThe Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center i
s pleased to announce the opening of Picturing the Civil War\, a new ses
quicentennial exhibition that looks at visual arts depictions of the Civ

the Museum&rsquo\;s collection\, and will explore the how the visual art

n&nbsp\;\nChristopher Uebelhor\, Director of Collections and Exhibitions
\, commented\, &ldquo\;This exhibition will display a number of photogra

eces will illustrate the various ways in which photographers&mdash\;whos
e genre had only recently come of age&mdash\;and artists documented the
war and its aftermath.&rdquo\;\n&nbsp\;\nPicturing the Civil War opens o
n August 27 and runs through December 31. It is funded through a generou
s grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.\n&nbsp\;\nFor
