Railroad Museum

The Rappahannock Chapter, National Railway Historical Association's Railway Workers Museum is open every Saturday from 9AM to Noon.  Tour restored railroad cars, see artifacts used by railway workers of the past century, sit in the upper caboose seats and see the view.  Weather, crew and  conditions permitting board the restored maintenace of way crew car (wagon) used by the railroad workers to get out to the work site for a 1.5 mile rail excursion (approximately 40 minutes)along county tracks. Train operates only in dry weather when temperature is 50 degrees or above (usually mid-March through October) (Nov to March rides are available only when the temperatures are mild) There is no admission and excursion fees but donations to support the operations, upkeep, and restorations are accepted.  The museum is a not for profit IRS 501c(3) organization and donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.

Kids loved this last week! We will be back for a ride when it warms up. Lots of great history. Highly recommend seeing this.
