Baseball in Fredericksburg on City Council Agenda

City, county meetings Tuesday address conflict resolution, waste-to-energy plant proposal, baseball in Fredericksburg.

The following meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013.

1 - The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce presents a Workforce NOW seminar on Conflict Resolution from 8 - 9:30 a.m. at Germanna Community College, 10000 Germanna Point Dr., Fredericksburg, in the Workforce & Technology Building.

2 - The Stafford Board of Supervisors is scheduled to revisit the waste-to-energy plant proposal during the 3 p.m. portion of their Tuesday meeting in board chambers, 1300 Courthouse Rd., Stafford.  The supervisors approved the plan 5 - 0 in June -- with one absent and Supervisor Cord Sterling abstaining.  Live stream of the meeting is available.

3 - Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors meets at 3 p.m. in board chambers at the Holbert Building, 9104 Courthouse Rd., Spotsylvania.  The agenda is attached.

4 - Fredericksburg City Council meets in work session at 5:30 p.m. followed by their regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, 715 Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg.  The regular session agenda will be followed by a closed session to discuss the current status of negotiations for a multi-purpose baseball stadium with the Hagerstown Suns. City Council's regular sessions are televised live on Cox Channel 24.

5 - The Stafford School Board will meet in work session at 5 p.m. followed by a regular meeting at 7 p.m.  They are expected to discuss the waste-to-energy proposed project during their 7 p.m. meeting.  Board member Holly Hazard would like like the Board of Supervisors to delay the project until studying potential impact to schools near the site.  Stafford School Board Meetings are broadcast live on Comcast and Cox Cable Channel 18 and Verizon Fios Channel 38.  They are re-broadcast in taped version on Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 1 p.m. and Tuesdays at 7 p.m.
