RAAI has provided day support services to adults with intellectual disabilities in their home communities for more than 35 years. Their services help keep individuals out of institutional settings and allow caregivers respite from care responsibilities.

Mayfest is RAAI’s annual fundraiser. All proceeds provide scholarships to allow participants without funding the opportunity to attend RAAI. According to Jim Gillespie, RACSB Community Support Services Director, “It is important that individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families have access to a quality day support program like RAAI. Participants not only enjoy valuable social and recreational activities that take place throughout our community, they also can explore vocational opportunities.”

Returning to Mayfest this year is “The Market.” Operated by RAAI participants, “The Market” features giftware and items handmade by people with disabilities.

The annual spring plant sale is being held from April 26, 2014 through May 10, 2014. Through the horticulture therapy program, RAAI participants grow more than 100 plant varieties. The plant sale hours of operation are: Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and Sunday noon to 4:00 p.m. During the 28th Annual Mayfest Celebration on Saturday, May 3, 2014, plants will be on sale from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In addition to annuals and perennials, RAAI has a large selection of vegetables, herbs, hanging baskets, and planters available for sale.
