Peter Chang’s China Café Opens to Full House

Peter Chang’s China Café announces the opening of their fourth restaurant.  The Fredericksburg restaurant had a soft opening on Friday night, then a full house on Saturday, including such diners as Mayor Mary Katherine Greenlaw and Vice Mayor Brad Ellis.

Peter Chang's restaurant in Richmond is on Bon Appetit’s 2012 list of “50 Best New Restaurant Nominees.”

He also runs self-named restaurants in Williamsburg and Charlottesville

"It is a very rewarding to see that the local residents are so excited about our arrival", said Peter Chang, owner and head chef of the restaurant."  "I am very pleased that the authentic Chinese food on our menu is being well-received. We will continue to introduce authentic choices to our customers."

Peter Chang’s China Café serves authentic Schezwan cuisine, which is Chinese that originates from the Southwestern area of the country. The cuisine style includes unique bold flavors and spiciness.

The restaurant features dishes that focus on offering hot and spicy, mild and meaty dishes. Some of the signature dishes include pan-fried lotus root stuffed with sticky rice, vegetable steamed dumplings, duck breast with cut spicy peppers, Chairman Mao’s favorite braised pork with Bok Choy, baked lamb chop Szechuan style and red bean moon cake for dessert.

All dishes are prepared without using monosodium glutamate (MSG) and are served family style.

“Peter Chang’s restaurant is a great addition to the Fredericksburg dining scene,” said Mayor Mary Katherine Greenlaw. “The dishes we sampled were extraordinary. Definitely fine Chinese cuisine.”

Peter Chang’s China Café is located at 1771 Carl D. Silver Parkway in Fredericksburg's Central Park. The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 pm.; and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
