The intersection of Benchmark Road and Mine Road in
Spotsylvania County will be closed Monday, Nov. 4 − Friday, Nov. 8 to allow CSX to repair a
timber rail crossing at the location.
The road will be closed for 24 hours a day, over five consecutive days, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) said. The intersection will close to traffic at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, and will not re-open until the evening of Friday, Nov. 8.
Detour signs will be posted along the route to guide motorists. To reach
their destination, motorists should use Route 2 (Tidewater Trail) and
Route 17 (Mills Drive), or the most convenient alternate route.
