Closures and Delays for Monday, Dec. 9

Weather related changes for Monday, Dec. 9, 2013.

Due to the weather conditions, the following closures and delays were announced for the Fredericksburg area.

Please refer to the comments section following the article for updates throughout the day Monday.  Thank you. -susan

  • Fredericksburg Academy is closed.
  • Fredericksburg Christian Schools are closed.
  • Fredericksburg City Schools will be closed. Code Red for staff.
  • Fredericksburg Learning Enhancement is closed  The Marshall School will be closed. Tutoring sessions will be held as scheduled.
  • Germanna Community College will open at 10:30 a.m.
  • Holy Cross Academy and St. Mary Preschool are closed.
  • Lighthouse Academy of Fredericksburg is closed.
  • MCB Quantico will open at 9 a.m. Operating status is code blue.  Reasonable delays for reporting to work are excused and unscheduled leave may be authorized. CDCs will open 30 minutes prior to the base opening and will NOT be serving breakfast. DOD schools aboard MCB Quantico will be closed Dec. 9.
  • Odyssey Montessori of Fredericksburg is opening two hours late.
  • Parks and Recreation programs and classes have been canceled Monday, December 9. Dorothy Hart Comm Center will close at 4:30 p.m.
  • Rappahannock United Way plans to open at 10 a.m.
  • Saint Michael the Archangel High School is closed.
  • Spotsylvania County Public Schools are closed.  Code one for 12-month staff.
  • Stafford County Public Schools are closed. Code two for employees.  Administrative offices open at 10 a.m.
  • St. Patricks School is closed. Middle school basketball games are also postponed.
  • The Rowan School of Fredericksburg is closed.
  • University of Mary Washington will open at 10 a.m.  The exam schedule has been revised.
  • VRE Feeder Bus service and D6 Bus Service will not run.
  • VRE plans to operate full service on Monday.
  • Federal Agencies will operate on a two-hour delay with the option of unscheduled leave and telework.
