Fredericksburg Area Weather Closings and Cancellations

1:30 p.m. Jan. 17

All after-school activities at Fredericksburg Academy are cancelled today. The Lower School Open Classroom Night is rescheduled for Jan. 24, the school said.

The Fredericksburg Eagles 4123 ladies' auxiliary meeting is cancelled for tonight.

1 p.m. Jan. 17

Spotsylvania Parks and Recreation has cancelled all evening activities for Jan. 17, according to an email from the county.

12:15 p.m. Jan. 17

Germanna Community College will close all campuses at 2 p.m. today, the school announced.

All Thursday after school and evening activities for Spotsylvania County Public Schools have been canceled.

Stafford County Public Schools have canceled all activities beginning after 5 p.m. tonight. "This includes all county-wide activities including the county spelling bee, the advisory committee meetings and the textbook adoption committee meetings," the district reported on its website.

All Stafford County Public Schools activity and tutoring buses are canceled.
Decisions regarding Friday's schedule will be made later this evening, the district said.

10:45 a.m. Jan. 17

Fredericksburg Christian Schools announced all campuses are closing at 12:40 p.m. due to the weather forecast.  All after school activities have been cancelled.

10:30 a.m. Jan. 17

Fredericksburg City Public Schools reports it is currently operating on schedule, but advises parents to be prepared for early closings if changing weather conditions warrant. All after-school activities have been cancelled.

All City of Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation activities and programs scheduled after 4 p.m. are cancelled for today.
