Fredericksburg Observes World AIDS Day

A walk and memorial service will be held Sunday, Dec. 2.

Fredericksburg Area HIV/AIDS Support Services (FAHASS) is hosting a World AIDS day walk and memorial service on Sunday, Dec. 2, beginning at 1 p.m.

"World AIDS Day is actually observed on Dec. 1 each year, but that's the same day as the Fredericksburg Christmas Parade, so we are planning to observe the day in a different way [this year]," Bob Martin, FAHASS Outreach Coordinator said.

The short walk will begin at Sophia and Hanover Streets and proceed to Market Square (map attached).  There will be a brief memorial service in Market Square, including a bell ringing in memory of those who have died due to the disease.
