Holiday Volunteer Opportunities in the Fredericksburg Area

Rappahannock United Way staff complied their annual Holiday Opportunities Guide.

The Rappahannock United Way has compiled its annual Holiday Opportunities Guide, providing local nonprofits a way to make their needs known and citizens an opportunity to locate a volunteer opportunity that's right for them.

A few of the volunteer opportunities in the nine-page guide include:

  • The Arc of Rappahannock needs “Santa’s Helpers” to shop for, wrap and distribute gifts.
  • Fredericksburg Department of Social Services seeks volunteers to take the wish lists a family has made and shop for those items.
  • Hope House needs volunteers to sponsor a family and make donations for
    food boxes.
  • Micah Ministries is helping Burlington Coat Factory distribute adult’s and children’s coats. Bring your gently worn coats (must have working
closures, no rips or stains) to the customer service desk at any Burlington Coat Factory store and receive 10 percent off your entire purchase.
  • The Rappahannock Area Agency on Aging is requesting holiday wrapped presents and $25 gift cards from Walmart, Giant, Target, Wegmans, etc.
  • The Holiday Project of the National Capital Area organizes visits to people in nursing homes and hospitals in Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware.  See what opportunities fit your schedule by visiting their website

Please see the attached Holiday Opportunities Guide for a complete list with details; or visit the Rappahannock United Way website.
