Military Enlistee Recognition Ceremony Wednesday

Our Community Salutes will hold its second annual event June 5 honoring graduating high school seniors who have enlisted in the military.

More than 100 local high school seniors will be honored Wednesday at the second annual Military Enlistee Recognition Ceremony, sponsored by Our Community Salutes of Greater Fredericksburg.

Brig. Gen. William F. Mullen and Sgt. Maj. Kenneth A. Conover are the featured speakers.

"These fine young people from Fredericksburg, Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, Caroline, Orange and Culpeper will be departing from their hometowns for military training and service after their high school graduations," event organizer Toni Stinson said.  "We invite residents to come out and be some of the first to say thank you to these young people for their courage and commitment to serve our country," she said.
