Fredericksburg City Schools will be closed Friday, Jan. 24. Code green for employees.

Spotsylvania County Public Schools are closed.  All staff, including teachers, should report two hours late.  The school district issued the following statement.

"All schools will be closed Friday, January 24, 2014; all staff including teachers should report 2 hours late.  Due to the loss of instructional time, exams have been cancelled and Friday, January 24 will now be designated as a teacher work day.  Monday, January 27, 2014, will be a regular school day – B day for middle and high school.  We are monitoring potential weather and road conditions and will provide additional updates regarding activities and events scheduled for Friday evening and Saturday."

Stafford County Public Schools announced there is no school for students on Friday.  The school district issued the following statement.

"Due to the loss of instruction time during the inclement weather this week, Friday, January 24th, will now be a professional day/teacher work day, however; teachers have the option to work from home.  All staff including teachers will report on a two-hour delay.  All buildings and offices will open at 10 a.m.

"There is no school for students on Friday, January 24th.  All exams are canceled. 

"Monday, January 27th will be a regular school day (an X day for middle and high schools) and will be the last day of the first semester.   All grades will be submitted by Friday, January 31st and report cards will be issued on February 11th.

"The time lost from today’s (January 23) closure means that we will have school on Monday, February 17th, 2014 (the President's Day holiday).

"All scheduled activities for Friday, January 24, and Saturday, January 25, may continue as scheduled.  This includes all high school athletic competitions, the SATs and the AP Mathematics Prep Sessions."
