Rain Cancels Park Activities

This week's rains have taken their first victim. Today's rains  Picnic in the Park concert series at Riverfront Park has been canceled, and the wet conditions have also forced the dog park to close according to city messages distributed to the public earlier today.

Weather permitting, the picnic in the park series will resume next week with on display for children to explore. This is the first season that the popular picnic series has utilized the Riverfront Park off of Sophia Street in downtown Fredericksburg. 

The city Dog Park also remains closed due to wet conditions, but other factors are also influencing the decision. According to a message distributed yesterday, excessive amounts of pet waste littering the grounds of the park have prompted city officials to remind the public to clean up after their pets.
