Salvation Army Capt. to Man Kettle for 24 Hours

Capt. Matt Satterlee hopes to bring attention to the needs of others with his bell ringing marathon.

The Salvation Army of Fredericksburg is $29,000 behind its year-end goal, so Capt. Matt Satterlee is going to do something about it.

From 8 a.m. Friday through 8 a.m. Saturday, Satterlee will be standing by a kettle ringing the bell outside Walmart at Central Park.

"I hope to bring awareness to the kettle program with one last effort for the holidays," Satterlee said.  "Donations will help the Salvation Army meet people's needs in 2013." See the attached video for more on the program.
