Snow Advisory Issued for Fredericksburg Area

Roads will be snow covered and slippery, impacting travel, the National Weather Service said.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for snow in Fredericksburg and the counties of Spotsylvania, Stafford and King George  through 6 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Snow is expected to begin late Tuesday afternoon and continue overnight, with one to three inches expected, the NWS said.  "The steadiest snow will be late this evening and overnight."

Temperatures will be in the teens.

Spotsylvania County Public Schools are closed Wednesday, Jan. 29. Twelve-month employees are on code two. Make-up days are now scheduled for February 17 and March 31.
