3 Siblings Adopted into One Fredericksburg Family

The three children were placed by Phillips Teaching Homes as foster children in 2010.

Three siblings have been adopted by the Fredericksburg foster family with whom they were placed, Phillips Teaching Homes reported.

Aaliyah, 9, Salena, 7, and Cameron, 5, joined the Hubbard family as foster children in September 2010. This month they were adopted.

"Michael and Vonzella Hubbard are no strangers to foster care," Piper Phillips Caswell, president and CEO of Phillips Programs, said.  "While the couple has two sons of their own, they have provided a loving home to over 20 foster children over their many years working with Phillips Teaching Homes," she said.

There are 1,817 foster children in Virginia waiting to be adopted, according to Caswell.

"When you work with foster children, the goal always is to find them a permanent home, a family who will love and nurture them," Caswell said.   "We're all walking on air seeing this outcome, we're just so happy for Aaliyah, Salena and Cameron," she said.

Phillips Teaching Homes offers homes with specially trained foster parents for children and youth with emotional and behavioral challenges.
