Traffic Alert: Downtown Paving This Week

Portions of Charlotte and Princess Anne streets included in work. Parking will also be impacted.

Motorists are advised of traffic impacts the week of July 21 – 25 in the vicinity of the Fredericksburg Courthouse for paving activities. Asphalt milling and paving will be performed in the 200 – 300 blocks of Charlotte Street and the 700 block of Princess Anne Street. Paving work will also affect the intersection of Caroline and Charlotte streets.

Paving is scheduled to begin Monday, July 21 in the 700 block of Princess Anne Street and will finish up later in the week on Charlotte Street. Pavement markings will be applied after the paving work has been completed.

At least 1 thru lane of traffic will be maintained at all times on Princess Anne & Caroline streets and 300 block of Charlotte Street. The 200 block of Charlotte Street may be closed to all traffic during the paving work.

Parking will be restricted within the areas to be paved and signs will be posted to notify motorists of the restrictions. Parking will also be restricted in the 800 block of Princess Anne Street for staging of trucks. Motorists should anticipate traffic delays near the courthouse during the paving work and may want to consider an alternate route around the work zones.
