Vote for Mary Washington in Pink Glove Dance

Voting ends Nov. 2 at midnight.

Mary Washington is in the running to win money as a part of a Pink Glove Dance contest for Breast Cancer Awareness month

Go to the Pink Glove Dance's website and search for Mary Washington; the deadline to vote is Nov. 2 at midnight. 

According to the Pink Glove Dance, the original Pink Glove Dance video premiered in November 2009 and featured 200 Portland, OR hospital workers wearing Medline’s pink gloves and dancing in support of breast cancer awareness and prevention.

Medline, the maker of a pink glove called "Generation Pink" is donating a portion of each sale of the pink gloves to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).

To date, Medline has donated more than $1 million to the NBCF to fund mammograms for individuals who cannot afford them.

The prizes for the Pink Glove Dance?

  • First Place: $10,000
  • Second Place: $5,000
  • Third Place: $2,000

As of 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, Mary Washington had 785 votes. Mary Washington selected Katy Perry's Part of Me for their video, which was one of the six approved songs for the competition. 

"Inspired by the story of one of our survivors, we asked our friends, our co-workers, our physicians, our administrators – our community – to join together and have fun to show our support for those who are Still Dancing and fighting the battle with breast cancer," said Mary Washington on their video submission. "We believe in friendship, we believe in hope, we believe in a cure."
