Rock Creek Singers of the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington DC

On March 3, 2012, Integrity of St. George’s Episcopal Church, Fredericksburg Area HIV/AIDS Support Services (FAHASS), and Fredericksburg Pride will host a concert featuring the Rock Creek Singers of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington DC.  The concert will be performed in the Nave of St George, with doors opening at 7:00pm.

The award-winning GMCW is committed to establishing an environment of friendship, unity, and acceptance through superior musical entertainment, as well as committing themselves to providing a positive musical experience for the community. They have performed on a number of historic occasions, such as President Obama’s pre-inauguration celebrations and the Federal first gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) recognition and awareness event government’s held at the Department of Education.  The GMCW also performs several subscription performances a year and is celebrating its 30th Anniversary Season.

The Rock Creek Singers is a chamber ensemble of 24 singers who sing everything from traditional choral music to Broadway.  The ensemble is one of two outreach groups supported by the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington.  Last year, St. George’s Episcopal Church hosted the Potomac Fever ensemble of the Chorus at a February performance that was attended by over 200 people.  Potomac Fever went on to perform for President and Mrs. Obama at the White House in June 2011.
