Quaker Steak & Lube: Crown Vic. This desert alt rock band, fronted by Fritz Beer, and accompanied by guitar master Tim Bray, will bring down the house. Guaranteed.  Read more about them from a past patch music preview here. www.crownvicrocks.com 9PM. Free. 21+

Qball Cafe: Tilt & Radio City Suicide. Fredericksburg underground hard rock and metal scene is always pumpin’. But, most view Fredericksburg as a bluegrass and country town. Don’t be fooled. These bands may not get radio play, but that is just because there isn’t a hard rock station in Fredericksburg to play them. (Or is there? Check out www.EyesSewnShutRadio.com). Tilt Frontman Jonathan Middleton tears it up with vox reminiscent of modern rock singer Chad Kroeger (they would shoot me for saying that, but it’s true), and grunge rock heroes like Chris Cornell .  Radio City Suicide showcase the The Vining Brothers rippin’ and dueling guitar and bass riffs, floored with Mike Enzy’s  kicks, and fronted by Mike Scott. www.tiltrockz.com.  9PM. Cover $5. 18+

Note: If you don’t see an “official” web link, check out each band’s music at their reverbnation site. Great tunes.
