Rock Lotto Takes The Otter House!

The Rock Lotto starts again tonight at the Otter House. Musicians are put on different teams to make songs and play for the jackpot.

It’s original, it's funky and, it’s back. The Fredericksburg Annual Rock Lotto, hosted by the one and only Seth Casana, will kick off at 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, at The Otter House in Downtown Fredericksburg.  

Last year was the first time Casana organized the Rock Lotto, and it rocked the crowd harder than that wicked earthquake. Local musicians through their hats in the ring, drew a number and were committed to the group of musicians who drew the same number. Yes, there may have been three guitar players who drew a number and ended up in the same band, so that means , three guitar players had to figure out how they were going to play together, and perhaps play an instrument they have never played before.

Each group is challenged to fill a 20-minute set with all original music. Crowd response voting determines the winning band. It’s a battle of musical wits and creativity, and it’s all in good fun and community.

Hosted by Seth Casana, the founder of funky rad band ELBY BRASS and Fredericksburg’s Finest showcases, and hosts TELL (a community story-telling event.) Full of brilliant ideas which have invigorated Fredericksburg’s music and arts community, this is by far one of Seth’s best for bringing local musicians together.
