Same Ol' Sound Not to Be Missed

Check out this rock trio at Colonial Tavern tonight

Identical twin brothers Adam Clayton, Jonathan Clayton and Joey Lee make up Culpeper’s best rock band Same Ol’ Sound.  They were first discovered in Fredericksburg at open mic Mondays with Dorian Cleveland. Adam Clayton sings lead and plays keys. Jonathan plays slide guitar, and Joey rocks out on his Gibson Firebird guitar (them babies ain’t cheap!). The two trade guitar solos and great jams.

Fairly quickly, the guys were drawing quite a few people to the free Locals Live Wednesdays at Colonial Tavern, hosted by local artist Joelle.  Then, the guys packed up, and decided to make Asheville, North Carolina their new home. They have played everywhere from Culpeper (having won several Battle of the Bands) to Charlottesville, Richmond, Washington D.C., Knoxville, to Longwood College, and even for charities, like the Habitat for Humanity fundraiser held at the Celebrate Virginia Live venue last year.

This band of brothers has a great chemistry on stage covering everything from The Doobie Brothers to The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, to their own rockin’ bluesy jam tunes. They will be in the studio over the next few months recording their first demo, to be released October 2011. Check them out Friday, July 29, 2011 at Colonial Tavern. Show starts at 9 p.m., and it’s free.

It’s a band to follow and definitely catch when they pass through the Fredericksburg area. You will love the music and love the vibes! And with their drive and dedication, I am sure you will see them on even bigger stages in the not too distant future.
