Electro Acoustic Barn Dance

• Why Go: This three day festival of electronic music and art hosts a series of concerts that include composers, artists and scholars from around the world.

Preschool Palette: Autumn Fun Workshop

• Where: Gari Melchers Home and Studio at Belmont
• When: Friday, Nov. 9, 10 a.m.
• Why Go: Preschoolers aged 2-5 are introduced to art and art museums in this age appropriate class. 
• Price: $8 (Members $5)

Old Towne Carriages Ghost Tours

• Where: 706 Caroline Street
• When: Friday, Nov. 2 and Saturday, Nov. 3, 5 p.m. 
• Why Go: Experience the ghostly legends of old town Fredericksburg in a unique way!

Friday Night Wine Tasting

• Where: The Virginia Wine Experience
• When: Friday, Nov. 9, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. 
• Why Go: New wine is featured each week, with the bottle sold at a discounted price

Cinderella

• Where: Central Rappahannock Regional Library
• When: Friday, Nov. 9, 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 11, 2 p.m.
• Why Go: Stage Door Productions presents a funny and new take on the Cinderella story by Kids on Stage.

Craft Fair

• Where: Riverbend High School
• When: Saturday, Nov. 10, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
• Why Go: This craft fair hosts a number of big-name vendors, and benefits the Program for Teen Parents. Proceeds go towards the Childcare Assistance Fund, which supplements the cost of childcare, allowing teen parents an opportunity to complete high school.

Female Biker Empowerment Conference

• Where: Dorothy Hart Community Center
• When: Saturday, Nov. 10, 9 a.m.
• Why Go: A conference and networking opportunity for women who enjoy motorcycling. Many workshops are included throughout the day.

Urban Trail Ride

• Where: Old Mill Park
• When: Saturday, Nov. 10, 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
• Why Go: Bring your own horse and enjoy a ride through the streets of historic downtown Fredericksburg.
• Price: $20 per horse and rider, registration required

Swashbuckling Pirate Party Adventures

• Where: Wiggle Worms at 885 Spotsylvania Mall
• When: Saturday, Nov. 10, 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
• Why Go: Children can dress up as pirates and join in a day of pirate adventures with games, songs and dance.

Mary’s Shelter Arts and Craft Benefit 2012

Advanced Gingerbread How-To

• Where: George Washington’s Ferry Farm

• Why Go: Do you already know the basics of making a gingerbread house? This workshop will teach veteran builders new and complex techniques to add to their next creation.

Second Saturdays at the Museum

• Where: Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center
• When: Saturday, Nov. 10, 1 - 3 p.m.
• Why Go: See the Fiber Art series at the Museum, and learn to make yarn sculptures and how to finger knit to make handmade holiday gifts.

Concert in Lights Kick-Off

• Where: The Village at Towne Center

• Why Go: Synchronized lights and music begin the holiday season at The Village at Towne Center. Emmy award winning television host Todd Newton will kick off the event.

Fredericksburg Forum Featuring Ben & Jerry 

• Where: University of Mary Washington, George Washington Hall, Dodd Auditorium

• Why Go: Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield of Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Ice Cream will give a presentation entitled “An Evening of Entrepreneurial Spirit, Social Responsibility, and Radical Business Philosophy.”
